Dangerous High School Girls in Trouble! is an independent production created by Mousechief studio, which combines elements of many game genres, including board, adventure and feature films.
The action of the game takes place in the 1920s in a small American city Brigiton, and the player directs the readings of several girls attending a private school. They decide to oppose intolerance, repression and old fashion and, to this end, they form a group which, by behaving improperly, tries to influence other people.
Each of the characters is described by four coefficients marked with card symbols: rebellion, charm, popularity and reason. During the game we move around the map of the city presented in the style of the board, on which we move the cones. We collect a variety of items and tips on who to talk to at a given moment and who to avoid.
The key element is the interaction with other characters, during which we try to win a skirmish by winning one of the mini-games: ridiculing, lying, exposing, flirting and gambit. Each of them has different rules, but most of them are variations on simple card games such as poker. The value of individual statistics determines the defeat of an opponent. As you gain new levels of experience, you can develop them, but frequent failures result in their temporary or permanent reduction. This ultimately leads to the elimination of the girl in question.
At Dangerous High School Girls in Trouble! a strong emphasis was placed on dialogues. As a result, we spend most of our time reading texts that are of a very high standard and often make us laugh. The game was nominated for the prestigious award of the American writers' guild.
Hand-drawn graphics harmonize well with the atmosphere of the plot, and particular attention is drawn to the portraits of the characters. The city is observed from "bird's eye view". In addition to the school, we also visit other nooks and crannies, such as suburbs and docks. The soundtrack consists of fragments of works from that period.
