Cyber Protocol is a retro arcade game, enriched with logic game elements. The game was developed and released by the independent Polish studio RedDeerGames.
Plot
Cyber Protocol takes us into a cyberpunk world. During the game we play the role of a hacker, whose task is to bring back to life the android G0X6. To do this, the protagonist has to get into its main core and activate the title protocol, cracking the subsequent security measure along the way.
Mechanics
Cyber Protocol consists of a hundred levels and resembles the iconic Pac-Man; we are taken to a two-dimensional board resembling a labyrinth, whose nooks and crannies we wander, controlling a red ball. Our task is to absorb luminous objects and avoid various obstacles and traps. The range of the latter is gradually increasing as we progress and continue to face new challenges.
Game modes
Cyber Protocol can be played solo or in competition with up to three players on split screen. Apart from the story mode, the game offers an arcade mode, where the number of lives is limited, and its achievements are ranked on the Internet.
Technical aspects
Cyber Protocol features pixel-art graphics reminiscent of classics from the golden era of arcade machines. The devs enabled us to adjust the game's appearance to individual preferences by applying various filters to image and sound. This is complemented by synthwave and chiptune songs that accompany the game, which can be listened to via the player integrated with the game.
