Again Caleb is forced to embark on a dangerous mission. This time, however, it is not about revenge, but an ancient scroll, the theft of which upset the balance between the power of light and darkness. As you can easily guess, it's up to you whether the mission will be successful and the world will miss the Armageddon that has been announced for a long time. The cloudy and cloudy plot, as usual, is only an excuse for what is happening on the screen, because anyone who has been in contact with the original Blood knows that "searching for a scroll" will be limited to exploring subsequent boards, brooding to their knees in the blood of enemies coming from all over the world.
The second largest addition to Blood was prepared by Sunstorm Interactive group, known for its interesting Duke Nukem 3D extensions. Compared to the twin Plasma Pak, Cryptic Passage at first glance looks rather poor: just one new episode, consisting of ten boards and four arenas for multi-person Bloodbath mode. Fortunately, this is only appearances. The lack of any changes in the weaponry, as well as the absence of premiere opponents, perfectly complements the above mentioned set of maps, the execution of which is absolutely perfect. Whether docks, philharmonic hall, gothic library, devilish monastery, haunted castle or steamboat - all the boards are dedicated with great attention to detail and take full advantage of the limited capabilities of the Build engine. The extension is only for veterans of the original game, which can be felt almost immediately through the increased level of difficulty. During the exploration of subsequent stages, we will encounter, for example, a large number of places where monsters emerge from the ground, or just behind the back of our hero, increasing the chance for his effective extermination.
