Creature in the Well Description
Creature in the Well is a hack and slack action game, in which players travel through the fantasy underground, trying to save their city from the coming sandstorm. The game was produced by the independent American studio Flight School. The team deals with numerous film and advertising projects on a daily basis, as well as the production of titles using AR and VR technologies.
Plot
In Creature in the Well players take on the role of the last robot in the BOT-C series, which sets off on a long journey into the mountains located in the heart of the unfriendly desert. On the spot, he tries to restart the ancient power plant, which can save the city of Mirage from the incoming sandstorm. However, he is faced with the titular and mysterious creature that hides in the ruins of the complex, hindering the robot's mission at every step.
Mechanics
The action in Creature in the Well is shown from the top-down perspective. Players have to explore eight different underworlds in the course of the game. Each of the visited locations has elements drawn directly from classic pinball tables. While playing, one does not fight ordinary enemies but tries to activate particular elements of the environment, hitting them with energy projectiles charged and deflected by the sword. The creators have prepared more than twenty unique items and weapon upgrades, as well as new hero outfits that change the style of play and the behavior of missiles.
Technical aspects
Creature in the Well has interesting visuals using cell shading technology. In each of the undergrounds, the creators used a limited palette of colors, as well as comic book gradients, giving the whole a unique look.
