Crashlands Description
Crashlands is an action-adventure game with RPG elements that was developed for AND, PC and iOS. It was created by independent studio directed by three brothers - Butterscotch Shenanigans. They have previously created well received games such as Quadropus Rampage and Flop Rocket.
Story
Story is important in Crashlands. It tells about the cosmic courier named Flux who crashes on an alien planet. In order to survive, she must help the friendly aliens, tame or eliminate the creatures in the world, create and expand buildings and develop craftsmanship. In order to do it, the player travels through a giant and varied world filled with wild animals, plants and mysteries. All that in order to repair the ship and deliver the goods which Flux had taken before the crash.
Gameplay
Gameplay mechanics are based on a loop consisting of three elements. First one is “find” (traveling), second is “act” (fighting, fishing, farming etc.) and the third one is “construct” (creating buildings, tools, weapons etc.) Buildings facilitate traveling, and render the fights with superior enemies easier, as well as allow finding better equipment - the cycle can be repeated again and again. Gameplay of Crashlands is very similar to the independent PC hit game Don’t Starve.
Crashlands released on AND, PC and iOS has colorful, fairy-tale-like graphics. The music was created by Zach Fendelman and Patrick Crecelius, members of the Fat Bard band.
