Cradle

Cradle is a peculiar open-world adventure game, which allows complete freedom of exploration. The production is being developed by the Ukrainian studio Flying Café for Semianimals. The team is made out of veterans of the video game business, with experience in creating such titles as Heroes of Might and Magic V or Allods Online. The founder of the company has previously been working as the art director for the S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat game.

The storyline of Cradle tells the tale of a young man and a mechanized girl, who have, in mysterious circumstances, found themselves in a Mongolian yurt amongst desert hills. It is up to the player to restore the life functions and missing body parts of his beautiful mechanical companion, and also to discover the secret of the abandoned theme park found near the tent. The developers have used elements from different cultures and ages to create Cradle, which makes it a very unique and intriguing gaming experience.

Exploration is a very important aspect of the Ukrainian production, solving numerous puzzles and gathering various hidden elements is a substantial part of the game. During the playthrough the player will, on multiple occasions, be forced to make a choice which will directly influence the ending. What distinguishes Cradle from most adventure games is that we experience the action from the first person perspective.

The game is powered by the Unigine engine, which allowed the creation of the vast, open world. The player can also interact with some elements of the environment; however, this aspect of the title is fairly limited. The graphics of Cradle can be described as average when it comes to the texture quality, character models and special effects. The game neither falls behind other productions nor does it eclipse them in any of its graphical qualities.
