Corruption 2029 Review – Cyborgs Lose to Mutants
This wasn't supposed to be another major production from the creators of Mutant Year Zero. But hardly anyone expected so many simplifications in the gameplay formula. Fortunately, the very core of the mechanics remained intact.

Corruption 2029 Description
Corruption 2029 is a tactical strategy developed by The Bearded Ladies studio. Previously, the Swedish team delivered Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden to the world, and used their experience to create a new game.
Plot
The game is set in the near future, in the year 2029. Corruption 2029 presents a dystopian vision of America, torn apart by war and turned into a hostile wasteland. In this difficult situation, a special unit with a mission far behind enemy lines enters the action. The task of soldiers, equipped with the most modern equipment , is to find out what really stands behind the mysterious cataclysm that has ruined the whole country.
Mechanics
Like the previous work of The Bearded Ladies, Corruption 2029 is a tactical strategy with a turn-based combat system in the style of the new parts of the XCOM series, but with a pinch of stealth. Players take control of a modest group of heroes, exploring the world in real time. However, at the start of the fight, the game become turn-based. During turns we try to turn the balance of victory to our side. This is helped by a variety of weapons, including assault rifles and flamethrowers, as well as additional gadgets like camouflage technology.
The authors focused on the tactical aspect of production. Before the fight, it is better to carry out field reconnaissance to find a convenient place to attack. The game also allows you to use shields, although many of them can be destroyed in battle.
Game modes
Corruption 2029 offers only a single-player campaign, with no multiplayer mode.
Technical aspects
Corruption 2029 uses Unreal Engine technology, used in Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden, Gears 5 and many other games. The graphics have been maintained in a style similar to that of the first game, and the visual setting presents a high level of execution.
