Core Masters to a game belonging to the genre MOBA, based on a free model with micropayments. Two four-person brave teams compete in a fantasy world, trying to gain a ball of energy and enter the opponent's base with it in order to release the power that will destroy all structures. The innovation here is the Free For All mode, where the division into teams disappears and players act alone in an effort to get ten balls.
Core Masters represents a popular genre of team strategy games for multiplayer gameplay - MOBA. The title was created by the Korean Soft Bigbang studio, supported by Neowiz. Production was based on a free model with micropayments.
The foundations of the game do not differ too much from the standards set by positions such as Defense of the Ancients or League of Legends. The action is set in a fantasy world, where various characters take part in the struggle for powerful energy balls. In the basic mode of the game the competition takes place between two four-person teams. Participants try to get these balls from towers located at different points on the map, and then break through with them to the heart of the base belonging to the opposing team. There they have to endure a certain amount of time with the artifact in order to activate a destructive attack that will bring the team closer to victory. However, if defenders manage to repel the attack and eliminate enemies before they charge the ball, they can pick up the abandoned item and use it to lead out an immediate hurdle - all the more effective because recent attackers may not be able to reborn in time and their base will desperately require defenders. It is worth mentioning here that the time needed for the "respawn" of the hero prolongs with the course of the match, so at a later stage the unfortunate death of the character may decide about victory and defeat.
An interesting innovation introduced by Core Masters to the MOBA genre is the Free For All mode. The division into teams disappears, and each participant of the game acts on their own, struggling with all the other players (as well as with AI-controlled creatures). In this model, the winner is the one who first gains ten balls of energy, scattered all over the arena.
In the basic team mode, the key to victory is, of course, the development of effective tactics that makes proper use of and combines the skills of the individual heroes. There are more than 25 of the latter, and they represent a variety of specializations, such as melee combat, distance attacks, offensive magic, healing spells or hidden activities. Among the available characters are representatives of such "professions" as clown, ninja or priest.
In terms of technology, the Core Masters does not differ from the flagship positions of the MOBA genre. The action is therefore shown in isometric projection, and the graphic design uses a relatively rich palette of colors and abounds in quite spectacular effects (especially when using by the characters their special skills). On the other hand, the detail of the models is not the highest, but thanks to this title can also be enjoyed by owners of older computers.
