Cook, Serve, Delicious! 3?!

Cook, Serve, Delicious! 3?! is the third part of a series of arcade games with economic elements started in 2012, in which we run our own cooking business. The title was developed and published by Vertigo Gaming, an independent studio responsible for the development of the brand.

Plot

It's 2042 in the United States... or rather what's left of them after the devastating conflict. Wherever this is still possible, people are trying to live as they used to (even though they may still be bombed), so organizing competitions like the Iron Cook National Foodtruck Championships still makes sense. In the course of the game we play the role of a food-truck owner taking part in the championship.

On our way to the new capital Nashville (Tennessee), we are improving our culinary skills and earning money that we can spend on improving our "mobile restaurant". All this in order to be able to present oneself as best as possible after reaching the place and to ensure a chance for victory. At the same time, we must be on our guard, because competition is breathing down our necks, which will not retreat from anything to thwart our plans (enough to say that the opponents we meet on the way may open fire on us). We are not alone, as we are accompanied by Whisk and Cleaver robots.

Mechanics

In the course of the game all the responsibilities of a food truck owner fall on us. Between the successive stops on the route through the United States we set the menu and prepare special orders (which "flow" to us via the Internet), and after reaching the place we take care of customer service. The latter requires from us above all dexterity and reflex, because taking orders, preparing them and serving them is based on pressing specific keys.

The fewer mistakes we make and the faster we deal with them, the more satisfied our customers are, which translates into the height of the tips they leave behind. However, we can not only use the funds obtained to purchase the necessary ingredients and pay the bills, but we can also invest in new decorations of our food truck, kitchen equipment or, finally, better armour or other means of defense against attacks of unfair competition.

Game modes

Cook, Serve, Delicious! 3?! can be played either alone or in local cooperation mode. The core of the game is a feature campaign in which the gameplay is exceptionally fast, but players who want to have a little less fun can switch to the calmer Zen Campaign mode at any time.

Technical aspects

In terms of the audiovisual layer of Cook, Serve, Delicious! 3?! does not differ significantly from what we are used to in the second part of the series. The graphics are still maintained in a colourful, cartoon style, while the fun is accompanied by a dynamic soundtrack intensifying its fast pace.
