Constructor HD

Constructor HD for PC, PS4 and etc. is a remake of the bestselling economic strategy game, originally released in 1997 for PlayStation and PC. The game was developed by the original creators, 30 years old British studio System 3 Software, known for such series as e.g. The Last Ninja and Putty. Lately the company has been developing mostly low-budget racing games and pinball simulations for PS2 and PS3.

Mechanics

You play as the owner of a construction company, and your task is to dynamically develop your business and eliminate the competition. During the game, you have to gather necessary resources (wood, concrete) and build houses that will fit the needs of your potential customers. Renting both simple wooden huts and large mansions can generate a profit, which allows you to operate your business and outsell the competition.

The game allows you to use various means to intimidate your competition and gain advantage, including some illegal ones. You can hire hippies, psychopaths, thieves, and saboteurs and have them interfere with the competing companies. Eventually, you can even hire a mafia.

Technical aspects

The new edition of Constructor features improved visuals in HD. The game mechanics stayed mostly the same, preserving the distinct elements that made the production successful. Apart from the methods you can use against your competition, the game also features a hefty dose of humor, characteristic of the original.
