Conquest 2: The Vyrium Uprising is a sequel to the popular real-time strategy (RTS) released back in 2001 called Conquest: Frontier Wars. The plot of this production was set about 40 years after the events known from the first part. The Long-lasting Borderland Wars ended with the signing of peace between Terrans (people) and Celareons (beings based on energy). The signatories of the above agreement also decided to condemn the sinister, insectoid race Manti to eternal banishment. Representatives of the latter, unable to come to terms with the humiliation suffered, are looking for a way to take revenge. But before they manage to counter-attack, a new danger appears in the cosmos: the Vyrium race (its members look and behave like reptiles). The next star conflict begins....
Compared to the original, the task of the players has not changed: to win the dispute over dominance in space at all costs. In order to achieve this goal, it is necessary to effectively manage a starship armada, supervise the extraction of raw materials in refineries, carry out dynamic technological development (various scientific centres), and conquer and colonize the planets encountered.
Conquest 2: The Vyrium Uprising offers players four different races to choose from (which of course means four singleleplayer campaigns), as well as a number of new star ferries that we will produce during the game (such as planet destroyers and ships responsible for terra-reformation). Ship models were made in full three-dimensional (the game boasts refined graphic effects), but - just like in the first part - it was decided to keep the 2D as far as the background of the struggle is concerned. The creators explained themselves by the fact that players have considerable problems with orientation (depth, etc.) in space RTS 3D (vide Homeworld, Hegemony or O.R.B.) and that's why they gave up such a solution. The picture is complemented by: climatic soundtrack and extended multiplayer mode (Internet or local network).
