Conception Plus: Maidens of The Twelve Stars
RPG 05 November 2019
Conception Plus: Maidens of the Twelve Stars is the next installment in a series of jRPGs enriched with visual novel elements. The title allows you to direct the fate of a teenager named Itsuki Yuge, who ends up in a world tormented by dark creatures. The production is a refreshed version of the first part of the series, which was originally released on the PSP console.
Conception II: Children of the Seven Stars
RPG 22 August 2013
The second installment in a series of jRPGs enriched with elements typical for visual novels and dungeon crawlers. This time, the player assumes the role of a chosen character (several available) and their goal is to defeat the monsters lurking in the Pandora Labyrinth. The gameplay resembles the formula used in the original game - the player explores randomly generated dungeons, talks to seven female companions (as well as asks them out on dates) and fights the enemies encountered. Once again, the so-called Star Children accompany the player in combat, offering their unique abilities as a form of support. The game is played from a third-person view and the player can both avoid encounters with enemies and attack them by surprise. Similar to the previous installment, one can buy new parts of equipment in town. The visuals are decent here and resemble anime productions.
Conception: Please Give Birth to My Child!
RPG 26 April 2012
A Japanese role-playing game featuring elements typical of visual novels. Itsuki Yuge is the protagonist here - a high-school student who is taken to a fantasy world for unknown reasons. The reality he visits is marred by certain dark beings and the protagonist soon learns about the threat they have brought, and that he is the chosen one capable of facing them. Along with thirteen female companions, he sets out on a mission to defeat evil. The game offers a three-dimensional environment and focuses on talking to other characters, exploring the game world and fighting the enemies encountered. Combat is turn-based and the dungeons are randomly generated. Interestingly, the protagonist is capable of having the so-called Star Children with each of his companions. Those become new companions bound to the couple. Star Children however, were gifted with unique abilities which can be used in combat. One has to remember though, that their power depends on the level of intimacy between the protagonist and their female companion, as well as on the "mother's" abilities. Conception: Please Give Birth to My Child offers manga-style visuals, but apparently, the creators were not focused on quality when working on this aspect.
