Commandos 3: HD Remaster

Commandos 3 - HD Remaster is a remastered version of the popular 2003 stealth tactical game Commandos 3: Destination Berlin. Original was developed by Pyro studio, while the remaster was created by developers from Raylight Games.

Plot

The plot has not changed compared to the 2003 release. The action takes place during World War II. The player takes command of a small squad of well-trained commandos who carry out dangerous missions against the German army in France, Germany and Stalingrad.

Game mechanics

Commandos 3 - HD Remaster also faithfully recreates the gameplay of the original. So we get a real-time strategy focusing on tactical aspects. The commandos we control are perfectly trained, but they don't stand a chance in direct confrontations with large groups of enemies. Therefore, the key is to use a stealthy approach, quietly eliminating enemies and avoiding detection. Open fire exchanges are the last resort here. The player can see all the enemies on the map and follow their line of sight, which makes it easier to plan actions.

The members of our squad are the Green Beret, the Diver, the Sniper, the Sapper, the Spy and the Thief. Each of them has different talents, the proper use of which is crucial to successfully complete missions.

The game is quite non-linear - many tasks can be performed by multiple characters, and most tasks have several alternative solutions. A novelty in comparison with previous installments is the introduction of a cover system.

Game modes

The game offers single-player and multiplayer modes. In the multiplayer variant, we can both compete with other players in PvP skirmishes like Deathmatch and Capture the Flag, and have fun cooperatively.

Technical aspects

The biggest change compared to the original is the improved visuals. The authors of Commandos 3 - HD Remaster have prepared new 3D models and textures from scratch, as well as improved the user interface. In addition, the controls were improved and tutorials and hints were introduced to make life easier for newcomers. Also the maps have been expanded.
