Combustion Description
Combustion is a noir action RPG developed by Slipgate Ironworks, also known for Rad Rodgers, and published by 3D Realms.
Plot
Combustion is set in an alternate 1997, in the oil platform city of Norrune inhabited by anthropomorphic animals. After a great conflict ended and the demand for oil dropped, the once rich city started declining. To make matters worse, a mysterious serial killer, Scorch, surfaced, terrorizing the people. We play as Calico, a rookie cop who must restore order to the city before things completely get out of hand.
Mechanics
Combustion makes use of various camera perspectives; sometimes from the side, sometimes from third-person. The game consists of various missions, during which we'll explore the various parts of Norrune, such as neon streets, shops, bars and amusement parks. To complete his investigation, Calico must talk to the citizens, search for clues, arrest suspects, chase down crooks and fight enemies. His primary weapon is a special multi-function nightstick, which can work as a freezing spray, a lasso and a stun baton.
Technical aspects
Combustion features old-school visuals reminiscent of games on the first PlayStation.
