Combat of Giants: Dinosaurs is a game developed by a Canadian branch of Ubisoft, with a view of younger players. As the producer states, it was designed for boys aged 6-10. This target audience seems to be the most likely to get interested into mysterious, huge world of dinosaurs.
The player’s job is easy – at least in theory. Playing as a dinosaur you have to beat other dinosaurs. Combat uses a unique and very intuitive skill-based system. Note, that all controls are done using the console’s stylus. There is a selection of 26 different dinosaurs, starting with carnivorous predators, through peaceful herbivores, and cunning carrion feeders. Fights take place on nine arenas with unique features and dangers for the fighters.
Interestingly, your character may progress as a fighter thanks to eggs won in duels. These eggs serve as a currency useful to “buy” spikes, feathers, and even bones – all this to create the best fighter among dinosaurs – stronger and tougher than his opponents. Injuries can be healed with water and food collected and kept in an inventory.
Apart from single player gameplay Combat of Giants: Dinosaurs offers multiplayer mode, wherein you can challenge your friends in quick one-on-one duels or in a Tournament for up to 8 players.
