Gameplay

Combat Directive: Napoleonic Wars combines tactical RTS gameplay, where the positioning of infantry, cavalry or artillery and the battlefield play an important role, with elements from turn-based games, such as movement on a hexagonal grid. Thanks to this, reflex is not the key element. Strategic planning of attacks is more important.

Before going into battle, we can analyze the battlefield. To gain an advantage, we use historical formations such as squares, columns or lines of tirailleurs, and the variability of the situation requires us to modify our units.

The authors of Combat Directive: Napoleonic Wars wanted to minimize the randomness of the gameplay, making it similar to traditional tabletop war games. This last element is reminded by the fact that skirmishes take place on the table.

Graphics

Combat Directive: Napoleonic Wars runs on the Unity engine and has visuals reminiscent of games from the first decade of the 21st century.
