Colosseum: Road to Freedom is an action game sprinkled with elements typical for RPG positions. Playing the role of a gladiator, we fight against hundreds of other similar warriors in order to regain freedom. The game was created by Goshow Inc. studio, the publisher is Koei.

Ancient Rome, under the reign of Emperor Commodus, circa 190 A.D...

Amidst the splendor of prosperity during times of confusion where public conspiracies abounded, those in power pit slaves against slaves in fights to the death.

In the gigantic coliseum amidst the deafening roar of the crowd, gladiators fought endless battles with only a vague sense of their future, sometimes to win freedom, sometimes to win fame.

Players, as newly captured slaves, are sent to the gladiator training school if they make a good showing in the minor arenas for their promoters.

Gladiators develop strong bodies and acquire many skills to survive; however, what awaits them at the coliseum are fierce battles with beasts, aboard ships, on chariots, or the battle royal.

Each player must decide whether to become a famous gladiator, praised as a hero, and live a life as a gladiator or cooperate with the patricians in their plots to influence history!
