Collar X Malice is a visual novel adventure game, in which the players play as a policewoman who is on the trail of a mysterious organization that has taken over the city. Idea Factory is responsible for the development of the title. The publication was undertaken by Aksys Games.

Plot

The action of Collar X Malice is set in the Tokyo's Shinjuku district, controlled by a mysterious organization that sows chaos and terrorizes the inhabitants. The player takes on the role of a young policewoman named Ichika Hoshino, whose task is to restore order in the streets.

The protagonist's actions make her the target of the organizastion, which resulted in her being assaulted and given a poisonous collar, which is used to communicate with the leader of a terrorist group. If she breaks his rules, the collar will kill her.

Ichika, together with a group of five strangers who helped her to free herself, sets off in search of her tormentor.

Mechanics

Collar X Malice is a standard visual novel. The gameplay is based on dialogues with a number of characters and making decisions that are important in terms of the plot. Additionally, in order to diversify the gameplay, arcade sequences based on quick-time event mechanics have been implemented.
