Three-dimensional action/FPP game maintained in the horror convention. Its creators, Plutonium Games, admit that Cleric was inspired by classical horrors from the seventies and the famous Resident Evil series. The project leader clearly states that there is nothing more exciting than the ranks of deadly zombies and very few rifle ammunition - the only weapon in his possession. The action of the game takes place in 16th-century Russia. The player becomes the title cleric, Reverend Father named Aronos, who came to the mountain town of Novo-Kholmogory at a time when several people die in unexplained circumstances. All the men and warriors who went to look for them did not return and their hearing disappeared. The player quickly becomes the spiritual leader of the whole town, has to solve the mystery of mysterious disappearances and, as it turns out later, oppose the forces of darkness.
The game combines rapid action, puzzle solving and role-playing elements. The whole thing takes place on a large area - about 100 square miles. There are many different locations, large and dark forests, an ice-cold river, a monastery, an old Russian fortress, caves, and so on. During the adventure we will encounter various beasts, including foxes, zombies, demons and members of the cult of evil. In the fight against them will help us the supernatural powers obtained through "holy symbols" and a variety of weapons (clubs, swords and muskets) and objects (holy books, potions, etc.).
