Clash of Swords is a fantasy-based browser MMORPG, which takes place in a kingdom plunged in the Great War of six races, merged into two alliances. The creator of the title is a native studio AMJ Solutions from Bytom.
At the source of the conflict lies a story told with a sense of humour. It all began with a conflict between the undead and the People. The latter were fed up with finding bones on the lawns of their homes for ever, and the measure dressed up when one of the zombies lost his hand in the punch that the queen wanted to drink. Shortly afterwards, during armwrestling, the Orc and Dwarf races were in conflict, accusing themselves of using doping. Elves and Minotaur soon joined the conflict. The first ones tried to prevent the cutting down of trees, which rivals wanted to use to expand their barns. As in any war, individual parties started to search for allies. This is how the Covenant of Light was created, bringing together people, elves and dwarves. At the other pole appeared the League of Shadows, formed by the undead, Orcs and Minotaurs.
As you can easily guess the axis of the game is competition between both sides, and the role of the player is to join the fight on the side of light or dark forces. When you create your own hero, you have at your disposal the six races mentioned above and three typical character classes: warrior, mage and archer. A game account allows you to have up to 6 different characters at the same time, which you can personalize using quite wide range of options for appearance or to rely on a blind fate. As the game progresses, we will develop character traits such as attack effectiveness, defensive abilities, blow strength, endurance, initiative and blessing. We also have at our disposal a wide range of weaponry and equipment, which we gain during the mission or buy from merchants.
The game focuses on the competition in PvP mode, but first we have to develop our hero to a sufficiently high level. We do this by undertaking various works (in a casino, Military Academy or laboratory) and by performing tasks such as finding an object or defeating an opponent. There are three types of currencies in the game. The basic one is silver, which we receive for performing tasks, selling items or work. For active fight against opponents we are rewarded with skulls, which can be used in special shops. The third type of currency is typical for free-to-play gold games, which we can buy for real cash and use to buy various amenities. As in any game of this type, our actions are limited by the level of life and energy, which regenerate spontaneously as time passes.
At higher levels of gameplay we unlock new options, allowing for various variants of multiplayer fun. It will be e.g. a duel with another player or an opportunity to join the guild and carry out more and more difficult tasks together. Graphic design of the game represents the average level of browser productions and is maintained in a cartoon, slightly comic style. Clash of Swords is also characterized by a large dose of humour, present in both the verbal and visual layers.
