A combination of a strategy and a simulation game. In City Bus Manager we can run a company that transports passengers across the city. It is our job to design bus lines and to take care of the buses and our employees. We can use real maps of cities all over the world.
City Bus Manager is a production combining simulation and strategy games, in which we take control of a company that transports passengers with city buses. The game is the result of a collaboration between the German companies PeDePe and Aerosoft, which are specialized in this genre.
Gameplay
In City Bus Manager we watch the action from a bird's eye view. Thanks to cooperation with OpenStreetMap, the game offers the opportunity to play in all cities around the world. The street grid and the location of public services were faithfully recreated, and passenger traffic and travel times of individual sections were simulated based on real data.
During the game we are responsible for all issues related to the operation of a passenger transport company. We primarily need to establish the schedules of individual bus lines and determine their routes, recreating existing ones or creating completely new ones (by connecting selected points on the map).
Additionally, it is necessary to take care of the comfort of our passengers by regularly cleaning buses and sending them to workshops, as well as building a special center with ticket booths. If we do everything right, over time positive reviews about the services we provide will start to spread around the city, and the number of people using them will increase, which will allow us to earn more money.
We can use the collected funds to expand our bus fleet (we have several dozen models at our disposal, which we can freely paint to make them stand out from the competition), as well as to develop the infrastructure used by them. We can expand our depot to include such facilities as parking lots, garages, warehouses, car washes or service stations, but also offices, toilets or kitchens for employees.
And speaking of employees - without drivers, mechanics or office workers, our company would not be able to last long, so it is also worth taking care of their needs from time to time.
