Chompy Chomp Chomp is the work of the independent studio Utopian World of Sandwiches which consists of two developers - Sarah Lacy and James Woodrow. The production is inspired by games from the '80s of the last century and is a kind of variation of Pac-Man.
Mechanics
The main characters in Chompy Chomp Chomp are nice, though always hungry creatures, which can even swallow their opponent, just to satisfy their hunger. The game is mainly about chasing food and avoiding getting crushed by the rest of the Chomps.
The game offers several gameplay variants. The base is a multiplayer battle mode for up to 4 players. The fights take place in 18 arenas resembling small labyrinths. Each of the participants of the game controls one creature and has the task of "eating" the opponent in the indicated color. From time to time, there is a random change of colors, so that the hunter can become prey at any time. Fruit power-ups and obstacles (e.g. bottles with poison), which can be encountered during the chase, add variety to the fun.
Game modes
Unlike the Xbox 360 version, the PC port of Chompy Chomp Chomp also features a story-driven arcade mode for a single-player or two players. It depicts the struggle against the invasion of Blobbidees, who attacked a garden inhabited by Chompa.
Technical aspects
Chompy Chomp Chomp features simple 2D graphics design and an easy-to-use control system. Even the youngest players shouldn't have problems with mastering the rules of the game.
