Chocobo GP Switch

Chocobo GP is a kart racing game in which chocobos - bird-like creatures known primarily from the Final Fantasy series - play the main role. It was developed by Square Enix.

Plot

In Chocobo GP story doesn't play important role. We take control over the chocobos and the characters known from Final Fantasy series and participate in races, in which the stake is the fulfillment of the winner's wish.

Game mechanics

In Chocobo GP we observe the action from the third person perspective (TPP). We take the role of our chosen chocobo or one of the characters known from the Final Fantasy series (such as Vivi and Steiner from Final Fantasy IX) and take part in crazy races on various tracks. The tracks, inspired by locations that fans of both brands will easily recognize, are winding and full of jumps and various obstacles.

Mastering the arcade-style driving model, which focuses on spectacular drifting in the corners, is the key to victory. Apart from that, an important role is played by Magicite, which are power-ups that allow us to attack (and thus slow down) our opponents or provide us with temporary protection.

Game modes

In Chocobo GP there are a number of game modes to check out. Story Mode, where we unlock new racers and tracks as we progress, and Time Attack - time trials, in which we compete against other players' ghosts or our own. Multiplayer mode allows to play over the Internet or in split screen. In Series Races we fight for victory in a series of four races, Custom Races mode allows us to create our own races from scratch, while Chocobo GP Mode is a special gameplay variant, in which 64 players take part in grand tournaments.

Technical aspects

Chocobo GP features relatively simple, but colorful and clear graphics in a cartoon style.
