Plot

Children of Silentown takes place in a village surrounded by a mysterious forest inhabited by monsters. People regularly die in this settlement. The player takes on the role of a young girl, Lucy, who decides to investigate the case.

Mechanics

The mechanics in Children of Silentown, as in other adventure games, are based on exploring the environment, talking to the NPCs (humans and animals), looking for objects (which can then be combined to achieve a specific effect) and solving environmental puzzles. The developers focus on making the puzzles as ingenious and unique as possible. Music also plays an important role in the game - singing can help the heroine in critical situations.

The player can also perform side activities such as playing with other children in the village in free time. A cat will also stand in the way of the heroine, which will make her life difficult.

Technical aspects

Children of Silentown has a two-dimensional, hand-drawn graphic design, which gives the game a darker atmosphere.

A incredibly insipid journey of bad design, put through the minds of youth that fails to answer any of the questions asked, instead being the kind of point-n-click title that saw the genre die in the minds of the majority.

Children of Silentown left us with very good impressions. If its puzzle/mini game element had been tamed and there were more "typical" adventure puzzles or even like those of the last chapter, then it would have scored even higher. However, the darkly beautiful story it tells, its immersive atmosphere and the messages it wants to convey are more than enough to make it stay etched in your memory for a long time.
