Chariot Wars is an arcade racing game in which we control antique chariots. The title is distinguished by a powerful multiplayer mode, in which up to 32 players can participate. The product was developed by the little-known Candella Software studio in the UK.

The action of the game takes us back to the turbulent times of antiquity, when the Roman Empire is ruled by Emperor Hadrian. On the occasion of the tenth anniversary of his reign, the Emperor organises great games and their greatest attraction is to be chariot races. The best crews from the furthest corners of the Roman Empire apply for the competition. However, on the night before the competition, the brutal murder of a representative of Judea and an unknown woman is discovered.
The Emperor, fearing an outbreak of riots that could spread throughout the Empire, puts the trusted pretorian commander, Quintus Octavian, in races and tells him to detect the perpetrator of the murders.
As Quintus Octavian we have dozens of races to win. We can control eight types of chariots, which differ in appearance and general parameters. Wooden chariots are much faster than metal chariots, but the latter are more resistant to enemy attacks.
An interesting element distinguishing Chariot Wars is the ability to fight during races. A second member of the chariot's crew can hurt competitors and damage their vehicles. For this purpose, the manufacturer has made available a rich arsenal of weapons: spears, trident teeth, macelets and arches firing fire bullets.
The manufacturer devoted a lot of attention to the development of the multiplayer mode. We can prove ourselves in Team Deathmatch and Capture the Flag, among others. Up to sixteen chariots supported by two racers can take part in such races, which gives a total of 32 players during the race.
Our struggle takes place in different corners of the Roman Empire. We race on the snowy hills of Gaul, the green meadows of Britain and the sands of ancient Egypt. Everywhere there we can recognize places known from reality, such as the pyramids in Giza or the Acropolis Hill in Athens.
