Chaos Rings Omega, released on AND and iOS, is a Japanese RPG. The production was developed by Media Vision studio, the authors of all other parts of the series. The title belongs to the premium category, which means that it doesn't have any microtransactions.
Plot
Chaos Rings Omega is a prequel to Chaos Rings. The action takes place ten thousand years before the events of the previous game. The story revolves around the ship Arc Arena, where brutal gladiatorial competitions are organized. We play the role of a young warrior named Vieg, who is kidnapped together with his pregnant bride and forced to take part in the tournament. Despite such a story structure, the game offers a very complex scenario. Between battles, we learn a lot about the history of this world and the dramas of the people who live there. In addition, the campaign answers numerous questions from the first part of the series, allowing you to learn about the events that have become the foundation for the plot of the entire franchise.
Mechanics
Compared to the original, Chaos Rings Omega doesn't introduce any revolutionary changes. The gameplay again depends mainly on exploring the undergrounds and fighting in turn-based battles. During them, we always control Vieg plus one of his companions, which we choose from a pool of recruited characters. The production has an interesting development system. In addition to standard experience points and statistics, there is also an option to use the genes left by defeated enemies. We can put them into the bodies of the heroes and thus equip them with new skills.
Technical aspects
Compared to the previous version, the deficiencies in the combat system have been corrected and the options for developing heroes' skills have been expanded. In addition, the characters now have Japanese voice-overs. The graphics have also been improved. The game has 2D backgrounds and 3D characters, but each of these elements offers a higher level of detail than Chaos Rings.
