A unique point & click adventure game, featuring an atmosphere of doubt, disorientation and mystery, having us questioning our beliefs. In Centum our story, the game world and various characters are dynamically shaped by our decisions and by the whims of the narrator.
Centum is a unique adventure game in which we play as a prisoner trying to escape from his cell... or at least it may seem like that is our main goal. This project, styled as a long-lost and never-released video game, was developed by the independent studio Hack the Publisher.
Gameplay
At first glance, Centum doesn't differ too much from what we've become accustomed to from other point & click adventure titles. Throughout the series of scenarios, we solve puzzles, as well as conduct conversations and make various choices. Our decisions have far-reaching consequences, potentially influencing the course of history, the depicted world, and individual characters.
The narration itself is complicated, and the reality presented to us undergoes transformations, depending not only on our actions and choices, but also on the whim of the narrator. The whole was maintained in an atmosphere of disorientation and mystery.
Nothing that we see here can be taken for granted by us. This especially applies to the narrator, whom we cannot trust, as he is capable of deliberately manipulating us, casting doubt on our own beliefs.
Graphics
The graphic design of Centum was made in pixel art technique.
