Car Mechanic Simulator: Pocket Edition 2 is a conversion of the simulation game Car Mechanic Simulator 2018, developed for the Nintendo Switch console. It was published by Ultimate Games.

Game mechanics

As the title suggests, in Car Mechanic Simulator: Pocket Edition 2 we play the role of a car mechanic, so we mainly deal with repairing damaged cars. After diagnosing the source of problems (with the engine, suspension, etc.), we have to get to the broken element step by step, and then dismantle the damaged part and replace it with a new one. Of course, we need specialized tools for this. These, unfortunately, are not available for free, just like everything that must be in a good workshop.

Orders are procedurally generated and vary in terms of difficulty and time constraints. As they are completed, the amount of money in our account grows, and apart from new tools, we can spend it on various improvements to the garage. The parts warehouse turns out to be as useful as additional jack stands, a diagnostic track for checking the suspension, a test track, which allows you to try out the car after repair or a race track, which is necessary to test its performance.

Besides, with time, we can extend the scope of our services, for example, by painting cars, which becomes possible after purchasing a paint sprayer. In addition, the game allows us to buy cars at auctions or look for rare specimens abandoned in barns and junkyards. Such vehicles can be renovated (and tuned) and collected (a multi-level parking lot is used to store them) or resold at a profit.

Technical aspects

Compared to the original, graphics in Car Mechanic Simulator: Pocket Edition 2 has been significantly cut down. Apart from the resolution, basically all its elements - from car models to the environment - have been degraded.
