Call of Champions, released on AND and iOS, is an online battle game belonging to the MOBA genre. The game is available in a free-to-play model with microtransactions and was developed by Spacetime Studios, the creators of such games as Arcane Legends, Battle Command, Star Legend or Arcane Battleground.
Mechanics
As in typical MOBA games, the plot in Call of Champions doesn't play a major role and is only a pretext for fun. The game focuses on online battles between two teams, each consisting of three heroes. There are 20 heroes and each of them offers unique skills and equipment.
The aim of the authors was to speed up the pace of the game so that it would fit mobile devices better. This in itself is not a new idea, but Call of Champions goes in this direction much further than its competitors. Battles have a strict time limit of five minutes, so even if you take the bus to work, you can play at least one match.
The faster pace in Call of Champions also allows for a strong simplification of gameplay mechanics. The game doesn't have any shops with items, nor any allied units controlled by artificial intelligence. You get a wide selection of special skills, which can be used from the very beginning of the match.
Technical aspects
Call of Champions offers attractive 3D graphics maintained in a slight cartoon style. The authors have also implemented extensive social elements, including the spectator mode and the streaming option.
