Builderment Description
Builderment is a cross between a strategy and a simulation game, tasking us with building an extraterrestrial factory. It was developed by an indie studio Builderment LLC.
Plot
Builderment is set in a bleak future, in which the Earth is dying out after its natural resources have been exhausted. We play as an adventurer sent to an alien planet; we must extract resources, build factories to produce goods and then export them back to Earth.
Mechanics
Builderment makes use of the top-down perspective. The player must manage all aspects of the factory. First and foremost, we must ensure access to resources used to create goods. Next, we can start constructing furnaces, workshops and other buildings, connecting them with conveyor belts. Though they're not too obstructive initially, overtime they start forming an increasingly complex maze.
We must also research new technologies unlocking more advanced buildings; over time, metal gears and wooden frames will be replaced by more futuristic structures.
Technical aspects
Builderment features simple, yet colorful, appealing visuals.
