Breath of Fire II Description
Amid the steady stream of RPGs emerging for Nintendo's handheld system, Capcom delivers another top-quality adventure with the re-release of this Super Nintendo classic.
In search of his missing father and sister, the central character will encounter villages whose many inhabitants are in need of a hero. Players can even construct and populate a village of their own. Altogether the story and side-quests are said to take 40 to 50 hours to complete, so make room on your calendar.
Breath of Fire II follows in the illustrious footsteps of the original Breath of Fire, which appeared on the GBA as a fairly faithful port. The story and gameplay in Breath of Fire II are nearly identical to that of the original with turn-based combat, eight characters that join your party and creatures called Shamans that create powerful magic spells when joined with certain characters.
Capcom has made many slight but significant improvements, such as the option to run instead of walk and the ability to save anywhere using one of three save files. Also expect minor graphical upgrades such as hand-drawn character art during some cut-scenes.
While the story mode is strictly for one player, friends can use a GBA Game Link cable to swap hundreds of items, weapons and armor.
