Developed by the Image Works team (including Predator 2), the main character is the title game. His task seems theoretically simple: on small islands there are bombs that need to be blown up while keeping alive. In practice it looks much more complicated....

Each island, and there are 250 of them in total, consists of several dozen or several dozen tiles, on which bombs, small and large, are set up. The size of the cargo determines its radius of destruction. Ordinary explosives can only destroy a part of the area in which they are located, while others do more damage in the immediate vicinity. The player must plan to blow up the bombs to get rid of all of them (preferably with the help of a chain reaction) and stand in a safe place, as the survival of the creature in one piece is also necessary to complete the stage. A specific difficulty in the whole operation are different types of plates. Some of them can collapse after stepping down, others - covered with ice - cause our hero to slip in an unwanted direction. It is also important to remember the passing of time - if we stand in one place for too long, it may have unpleasant consequences.

A bomb bomb requires incredible precision in planning subsequent movements. In the later phase of the game, a mistakenly executed step will almost immediately wipe out any chances for victory. The codes for the newly discovered stages help in the struggle, but the program reveals them only after eight successful sapper operations.

The Image Works product is characterized by an average visual setting, incomparably worse than the twin version from Amiga computers. The only thing that deserves attention is the ability to switch between the classical view from top to isometric projection. Despite the graphic poverty, Bombuzal is an interesting game and will surely find amateurs among fans of complex puzzles.
