Launched in 1983 by Shinichi Nakamoto, the series of games with Bomberman in the lead role has had more than 70 views. From the very beginning, Hudson Soft has been the owner of the brand, which has been preparing further parts of the cycle addressed to newer and newer hardware platforms. Bomberman 3DS is the first Japanese developer's production for the Nintendo 3DS pocket console.
The axis of the game's plot is the rebellion of the robots that take control of Central City. Traveling through diverse and challenging locations, the title character must find a way to free the city from treacherous machines.
The Bomberman 3DS contains the traditional logic-arcade elements for the series. The gameplay is mainly about placing and detonating bombs on the boards to remove obstacles, get rid of enemies and at the same time avoid injuries. Developers, however, took care of a portion of novelties, including special explosives, which make it easier to solve puzzles.
The game offers a number of fun options addressed to both single and multiple players. In multiplayer mode it is possible, among others, 2-person cooperation, 4-person battles played using a local connection, as well as battles for up to 8 participants connected via the Internet.
The creators of Bomberman 3DS used the technical capabilities of the Nintendo 3DS console to generate three-dimensional images, control via a touch screen and operate wireless networks, among others.
