A first person adventure-logic game, in which we visit a mysterious mansion with a constantly changing room layout. Blue Prince is about exploration, solving puzzles and deciding what to find behind the door. Our ultimate goal in the game is to reach room number 46.
Blue Prince is a logic-adventure game. It is the debut project of the independent American studio Dogubomb. The game takes us to the Mt. Holly Estate with the task of finding the legendary room number 46. It won't be easy, as the layout of the rooms in the residence is constantly changing.
Gameplay
In Blue Prince we watch events from a first-person perspective (FPP). We explore the Mt. Holly building during the game, learning about its turbulent history and the stories of the people associated with it, as well as solving puzzles.
The exploration itself presents a kind of puzzle, because when approaching a door, we have to decide what kind of room we will find behind it. Rooms with unique features and equipment stand out here, thanks to which we can acquire items such as a magnifying glass or a shovel, useful for solving puzzles and providing us with access to new places.
The choice we make before pulling the door handle determines our path through the residence. The layout of the rooms changes every morning. This means that the house plan we draw regularly becomes outdated. Nevertheless, the upgrades unlocked along the way stay with us, allowing us to gradually get closer to our main goal.
