Blue Dragon Plus is a full-fledged continuation of Blue Dragon, which in 2007 came to Microsoft's console. As before, we are dealing with a title representing the species of Japanese RPGs. Despite the change of the developer (feelplus instead of Mistwalker) this project is supported by several people known to the fans of the first part. These include Akira Toriyama (creator of the main characters) and Nobuo Ueamtsu (composer).
The action of this game starts one year after the events presented in the first part of the Blue Dragon cycle. The land inhabited by the main characters is disintegrating and now consists of more independent mini-worlds. During the game, the player gets to know the fate of a boy named Shu, as well as his closest friends. Blue Dragon Plus tells the story of a hostile dragon, discovered by Zola and King Jibraltar. Shu is sent with the task of stopping the monster. This is only an introduction to further adventures, abounding in many surprising twists and turns of action.
Proper gameplay is based mainly on the need to fight with the opponents encountered by the player. The team consists of several heroes, among which there were also characters known from the first part of the series. In addition to the above mentioned personalities are Jiro, Marumaro, Unchi and Kluke. The characters are still gifted with magical skills, thanks to which they can cast their shadows for duels. These beings are endowed with enormous power, and their skilful use becomes the key to success. Most of the shadows were moved in a very similar form, although in the later phase of the game there are also completely new creatures. The fights are played in real time, requiring not only dexterity, but also quick and accurate decisions.
Events take place in a two-dimensional environment, which is observed in isometric projection, typical for many pocket RPGs. The game did not lack interludes, depicting the most important progress of the player.
