Bloody Waters: Terror from the Deep by Pineapple Interactive is an original action game that gives you a chance to play as a rather rarely used character - a shark. It is also impossible not to notice some similarities with Renny Harlin's film Deep Blue Sea from 1999.

Plot

The story begins with the research carried out by Crystal Waters, a team of marine biologists headed by Dr. Martin. After many years of experience, scientists have finally succeeded in finding a way to connect human and animal genes. The longest and most serious research was carried out on a deadly dangerous predator: a huge white shark. The last stage of the experiment was to release animals to observe them in their natural environment. Unfortunately, the ship carrying the cargo sank and all the research objects were released. No one expected that the powerful shark would seek revenge.

Game modes

Players participate in the game by performing two types of missions: underwater (controlling the shark), and ground (controlling members of the mysterious Shark Cult). We observe the actions of our characters from the third person perspective, and the game consists of a series of missions. However, we are not forced to carry out one task after another. In the breaks between the stages, we can visit the area (without time limit), play mini-games, deal with side missions, and so on.

Mechanics

During land missions, we play as cultists. We do everything to help our deity: we visit scientific facilities, warehouses and docks, open new passages and tunnels, solve riddles and collect food for the shark. We also need to use the individual skills of individual characters (for example, to repair a car). What's more, members of the cult can sacrifice themselves and end up as a meal of the big fish.

The shark gameplay is completely different. Here, we get different tasks and possibilities. Initially, the goal is simply to survive: we hunt and devour everything we can catch to gain strength and weight. After some time, we will be ready to take revenge on Dr. Martin's team. As befits a predator, Subject 5 (the shark got this nickname from the scientists), works perfectly as a killing machine. We meet a lot of opponents, from the natural inhabitants of the sea depths to bizarre, mutated scientists, mechanical fish or giant, shark eating beasts. Sometimes, we also have to demolish boats, marinas or underwater objects.

Luckily, nature and the biologists have equipped us with a number of skills that make this uneven fight much easier. We can use Tail Strike (the ability to hit with missiles, such as the remains of the platform or cut off limbs of the victims), Super Bite (a powerful bite that crushes people, boats and even a helicopter), Breach Attack (the ability to rise above the surface of the water to catch the victim), and Boat Charge (charging on enemies and boats built of lighter elements).
