Blood West: Dead Man's Promise

Blood West: Dead Man's Promise is an expansion for the immersive horror/western sim Blood West, released in 2023. The add-on was developed by Polish studio Hyperstrange, which also created the basic version of the game.

Story

The main protagonist of Blood West: Dead Man's Promise is Twen 's father. The protagonist is faced with the necessity of repaying his debt to the God of Death, and it's our job to make sure that he manages to bring all the lost souls before the herald of his principal.

It is worth noting that although we had the opportunity to meet the main character of the described supplement in the basic version of the game, its completion is not required to understand the story told here. Nevertheless, the creators recommend at least going through the second chapter of the "basic" game.

Gameplay

Father Twen is a shaman, so on the battlefield he makes use not only of white weapons and firearms, but above all of anklets , which allow him to attack enemies with magical projectiles or summon minions to fight for him.

Blood West: Dead Man's Promise also introduces previously unseen enemies, led by adversaries that attack both the hero's body and mind. In addition, while wandering through the locations prepared for this DLC, we also get to know ordinary, friendly and sometimes needy of help locals, for whom we can perform tasks.

As we progress, we collect an increasingly powerful arsenal, as well as unlock various perks and skills. These include regenerating health by devouring trophies or the already mentioned summoning of servants to the battlefield.

Technical issues

Blood West: Dead Man's Promise is a non-self-contained add-on, so it requires the basic version of the Blood West game.
