A strategy simulation in which we run our own movie studio, similar to The Movies game from 2005. Blockbuster Inc. has us making all crucial decisions - hiring actors and other employees, building movie sets, overseeing the shooting of the film and securing the proper budget.

Blockbuster Inc. is a strategy simulation game that allows us to run our own film studio. The game was developed by the independent Greek studio Super Sly Fox from Athens and it is their debut project.

Mechanics

In Blockbuster Inc. all issues related to running a film studio rest on our shoulders. We are involved in erecting new buildings, expanding and changing their decor, as well as dealing with typical business matters - from deciding on working hours, to managing the budget (such as buying shares in other companies or taking out loans for new ventures) and issues related to marketing.

Of course, if the studio wants to generate profits and constantly develop, it must work on new films. For their needs, we create scenography, prepare scripts, choose actors and decide on their costumes, as well as hire other employees. When the movie production starts, we can decide on the camera movement or give instructions and tips to the actors. After the shooting is finished, we can deal with editing or sound effects.

When working with actors, attention must be paid not only to the costs associated with their employment, but also to their individual characteristics, preferences and requirements, which must be met for them to agree to work for us. It is worth not only aiming at the celebrities of the film industry, but also at the rising stars, who still have their best times ahead of them.

During the game, it is also important to remember that basically everything changes over time - from fashion, through technology, to the preferences of the viewers. In addition to this, the work of our studio is also influenced by various random and historical events.
