Blind

Blind is an unusual first-person psychological thriller, in which players assume the role of a blind woman using echolocation to learn more about her surroundings. The game was designed for Virtual Reality headgear – HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, and PlayStation VR. Blind was developed by the independent Tiny Bull.

Plot

Players assume the role of Jane – a young woman who lost her sight and woke up in an unfamiliar place: a mansion managed by the mysterious Warden. In order to understand what happened, the main protagonist has to overcome her fear and explore the bizarre building.

Mechanics

Blind is a first-person game with unusual gameplay mechanics. Players move around the mysterious mansion in order to solve the mystery of what happened to Jane and how did she end up in that weird place. What makes the game unique is the fact, that the main protagonist is blind. In order to proceed through consecutive rooms, players have to use a special cane or echolocation – the reverberating sound reveals (for a short moment) the silhouettes of objects and characters. One should stay alert, as this might draw the attention of the Warden.

Game modes

Blind features only the single-player mode.

Technical aspects

The game features original 3D visuals entirely composed of black and white. Players can only see white silhouettes of objects and characters. The game supports Virtual Reality headgear, motion controllers, and 3D sound system based on binaural audio technology.
