Blazing Angels: Squadrons of WWII Description
Blazing Angels: Squadrons of WWII is an arcade flight-combat video game. Initially, it was being prepared exclusively for Xbox and Xbox 360 consoles, but during the development process a PC version was included also in the plans. You play as a pilot, who takes part in a series of missions set during World War II, starting with the famous Battle of Britain, and all the way to the Defense of the Reich.
There is a selection of 45 fighters, the most famous machines used in the World War II by the English, Americans, Germans, and Japanese. All plane models were accurately recreated from their authentic counterparts. Apart from the third person view, you can also set the camera inside the cockpit. In combat, you can also use the radar in top right corner, displaying enemy positions.
Despite its arcade gameplay (the game is a shooter rather than an actual simulation), the devs implemented a tactical element of giving commands to your wingmen. Although these are simple commands such as attack the target or provide support, they prove really useful, especially when we are outnumbered by the enemy. Of course in the heat of combat, damage to our plane is inevitable. The devss enabled repairs in mid-air to make the gameplay easier. In order to replenish the plane’s “health” you have to quickly perform a series of moves.
Blazing Angels: Squadrons of WWII sports decent graphics. In battle lots of planes are visible on the screen, and they go down in spectacular explosions and clouds of smoke. On top of that there is great audio pumping adrenaline in player’s veins with each swish of a plane or the rattle of machineguns.
