Black & White Bushido is a brutal two-dimensional arcade game in which two groups of samurai - black and white - meet. The Good Catch Games studio located in London is responsible for its development.

Story

The game cannot boast an extensive plot layer, although it does not leave the player without basic information about the background of the conflict between the two factions of samurai. In the Black & White Bushido universe, light and shadow have existed for thousands of years without knowing about each other. One day, however, something unusual happened, namely the eclipse of the sun. This caused both sides to face a conflict.

Mechanics

The visuals of Black & White Bushido has been prepared in such a way that two colors dominate the screen during the whole time of play: white and black. White samurai are invisible to the enemy, standing on a white background and black samurai on black background. Thanks to this original mechanics, i.e. blending into a color friendly background, we gain an advantage over our enemies.

As the title is a fast beat'em up, our task is to eliminate enemies, injure them or imprison them with the help of the weapons available in the game. The different locations have been prepared in such a way that none of the parties is too favored. In total, seven dynamically changing arenas are present in the title.

Although the game is primarily aimed at team clashes for four players, offering modes such as Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag and Challenge, the devs have also prepared a campaign for those who prefer to have fun alone. In addition, in multiplayer modes, it is possible to play against bots.

As the game progresses, new character levels and achievements are unlocked.

Technical aspects

Visually, the game definitely stands out from other titles due to the use of almost exclusively two colors. However, this is not only aesthetic value but also an immanent feature directly related to the original mechanics of the game.
