Black State PC

Black State a sci-fi action game with stealth elements. It was developed by Motion Blur - an independent Turkish studio from Istanbul, established in 2004. In this team's portfolio, we can find the first FPS created in Turkey, as well as a survival horror game titled Kabus 22, which brought them some recognition worldwide. This game is studio's first project of such a high caliber.

Plot

In the futuristic world of Black State a secret group of scientists known as Architects operates in hiding. A strange cataclysm has occurred, as a result of which each door becomes a kind of wormhole, leading to various locations. The main character is sent to deal with the problem. His (and therefore our) task is to save the imprisoned people and discover the truth behind these events.

Gameplay

In Black State we watch the action from a third-person perspective (TPP). Although at first glance we are dealing with a classic representative of the genre, the game is distinguished by allowing doors to smoothly transport us to different locations and throw us into the vortex of various, often unexpected events.

Thanks to them, in one moment we can move from a climatic mansion to a rushing metro, only to find ourselves in enemy-occupied territory a few seconds later. However, it is worth remembering that at any moment we have the possibility to return to the locations that we leave behind, which gives us control over the exploration.

On the way, we carry out the missions set before us and face our opponents. The protagonist can hide behind cover, sneak behind enemies and eliminate them silently. Nevertheless, we often also have to resort to weapons and engage in open combat.

On the battlefield, we make use of a rich arsenal that includes pistols, assault rifles, shotguns, grenades, and useful combat gadgets. In addition, the hero can slow down time, which allows him to quickly deal with groups of enemies, as well as perform brutal finishing blows on stunned foes.

Apart from hostile people, so-called Robosapiens - machines created solely for killing - also stand in our way. We also have to face much more powerful bosses from time to time. Defeating them requires familiarizing ourselves with their attack patterns and discovering their weak points or gaps in defense.

Engine

Black State runs on Unreal Engine 5.
