Birthdays the Beginning

Birthdays: The Beginning for PC, SWITCH and PS4 was developed by Arc System Works, under the auspice of Yasuhiro Wada, who is the father of the Harvest Moon series. The game casts the player in the role of a creator of worlds.

Mechanics

The player begins by creating a new planet from scratch. The player decides about topography-related aspects through raising mountains and creating valleys which gather water, that is, the source of life. Also, one has to provide adequate temperatures in order for life to develop. The player's prime goal is to design a breathing ecosystem, which requires them to create complex, living organisms and observe them as they evolve over time.

At the beginning, the player creates simple, unicellular organisms in order to lead them through subsequent phases of development gradually – from different plants and dinosaurs, through creatures resembling present-day animals, to finally reach humanoid beings.

Birthdays: The Beginning for PC, SWITCH and PS4 offers colorful, three-dimensional visuals accompanied by a light atmosphere.
