Bilkins' Folly

Bilkins' Folly is an adventure game, in which we must traverse beautiful islands accompanied by our faithful dog. It was developed by Webbysoft and published by Armor Games.

Plot

The main protagonist of Bilkins' Folly is Percival "Percy" Bilkins, treasure hunter. Accompanied by his faithful dog, Drayton, he sets out on a journey to find his long-missing mother and grandfather. His daring expedition almost immediately goes south as his ship crashes during a storm.

Our hero must therefore find a new ship, his missing crew and resume the expedition, visiting many beautiful islands along the way. During his search, he'll discover some family secrets and stumble upon a hidden treasure.

Mechanics

Bilkins' Folly makes use of the top-down perspective. The player traverses successive islands and discovers their secrets. We'll meet the islands' inhabitants, helping them with their problems (how we treat them affects their relationships with us) and recruit crew members.

All the while, we're accompanied by Drayton the dog; as our bond strengthens, we can start upgrading his skills. Throughout the game we'll face many different puzzles. Some require the help of Drayton (he can search for valuable, useful items), others can only be solved later on in the game.

There's also fishing, treasure seeking contests and various mini-games, like herding sheep or lockpicking.
