A first-person action game that follows the convention of survival horror. Bigfoot is a debut project of an independent Ukrainian developer, CyberLight studio. As the name suggests, the game focuses on the legendary humanoid creature living deep inside the Rocky Mountains.

Bigfoot is the debut project of the Ukrainian CyberLight studio, established in 2016. The PC the action game follows the convention of survival horror.

Plot

As the name suggests, the game focuses on the legendary humanoid creature living deep in the Rocky Mountains, in North America. After a group of tourists goes missing in 2016 in one of the nearby national parks in what according to the police was the result of an accident, the main protagonists, accompanied by his friends, decides to go to the site and investigate this case personally. The group believes that none other than the legendary Sasquatch (as Native Americans call it) is responsible for these mysterious events.

Mechanics

In the PC release of Bigfoot, the action is presented from a first-person perspective. Players get at their disposal a vast open world, in which they can explore lakes, swamps, and creepy caves. The gameplay is focused hunting down the titular adversary. The main protagonists establish their base in an RV, and during their hunt, they use a shotgun, a wide range of traps, and other pieces of gear such as cameras, motion sensors, night visor (an invaluable device, should the main protagonist find himself alone in the woods after dusk).

A strong asset of the game is the AI that controls Bigfoot’s actions – developers have put a lot of effort into making the Sasquatch behave as if it was a living being. One should not forget that this powerful adversary exhibits supernatural powers, thus direct confrontation usually does not end very well.

Game modes

The player can face the Sasquatch on his own, or in a cooperative mode allowing up to three players to join their forces for the hunt.

Technical aspects

The PC release of Bigfoot is based on Unreal Engine 4, which stands behind the high-quality visuals. Like in other games utilizing this technology, lighting effects are very impressive; one is bound also to appreciate the thick and rich vegetation.
