A narrative adventure game in which we follow the fate of a young waitress named Louise and her eight-year-old son, Mitch. In Best Month Ever! we accompany the protagonist and her child on their last journey, and our decisions shape the characters' relationships and the boy's future.

Best Month Ever! is a narrative point & click adventure game about a relationship between a mother and her eight-year-old son. It was developed by Klabater and Warsaw Film School Video Game & Film Production Studio.

Plot

Best Month Ever! takes us to the United States of America in the 1960s. The main characters are a young waitress named Louise and her eight-year-old son, Mitch, whom she raises alone. When the woman finds out that she is terminally ill and has only one month to live, she decides to make the most of this time. To this end, she sets off with Mitch on a journey across America, during which she will have the opportunity to pass on to him the best values and give him valuable advice, as well as make decisions that will shape the boy's future.

An interesting trick is to present the plot from two perspectives. While some events take place during Louise and Mitch's journey, others are presented in the form of flashbacks; years later, the adult Mitch returns to them with his memories, evaluating the choices he and his mother made.

Mechanics

While exploring America, the protagonists of Best Month Ever! take part in a variety of both fun and dangerous events, meeting colorful, distinctive characters along the way - from hippies, to bikers and Native Americans, to representatives of the Ku Klux Klan. During the game we visit various locations, carry out conversations and tasks that push forward the plot, and make various decisions. Our choices determine the relationship between Louise and her son and influence Mitch's three attributes (lawfulness, self-confidence, relationships), while shaping his personality and future. In addition, our actions affect the course of the story and which ending we will see.
