Beneath Oresa

Mechanics

The gameplay in Beneath Oresa focuses on fierce duels. To fight with enemies we lead a duo of two characters, which we choose from an extensive list. Individual heroes represent different factions and have individual sets of abilities and strengths. To maximize the chances of victory, we have to choose the protagonist and his companion in such a way that they complement each other.

Duels take place in turn-based mode and during them we play cards that correspond to specific moves and attacks or provide us with various bonuses. An important role is played by the positioning of the warriors on the battlefield and the distance that separates them from their adversaries. While facing the ranked opponents doesn't require advanced tactics, in order to deal with the powerful bosses we have to prepare the right strategy.

Locations are procedurally generated, so every game looks different. As we progress, we gain upgrades that allow us to face more and more challenges. When developing a given card we have to decide on one of its two stronger variants.

Technical aspects

Graphics of Beneath Oresa were made in cel-shading technique and kept in the original style inspired by European cartoons and works of famous Moebius.
