Be My Horde is an action game with clearly defined roguelike elements, belonging to the subgenre of arena survival. This project was created by the Polish based studio Polished Games, on which Michal "Kwisc" Chwistek worked as a designer, former editor of GRYOnline.pl and Gamepressure.com. The same team also developed Realms of Magic which was released in 2022.
Gameplay
In Be My Horde we watch the action from a bird's eye view. The game takes us to a fantasy land, and the main heroine is a necromancer named Moriana. The protagonist ends up on the arena and tries to stay alive as long as possible.
Reviving opponents and creating an army
In order to survive as long as possible, the protagonist deals with anyone who stands in her way, and then adds them to her army. Although initially the necromancer only has a small and weak unit, she can resurrect any defeated opponent to fight by her side. After some time, hundreds of units march alongside her, among which we can find peasants, warriors, knights or even... sheep burning with a desire to kill.
Character development
As Moriana's army progresses, it grows to impressive sizes, but the number of adversaries attacking it also increases. This makes her death only a matter of time. When the heroine falls on the battlefield, she goes to her dark domain, where she can prepare for the next attempt. On the way, our necromancer collects the souls of her enemies, which she uses to enhance her subordinates and abilities, thereby increasing her combat potential and chances of surviving longer.
Graphics and music
The two-dimensional graphics of Be My Horde are maintained in a cartoon style. The game is played to the accompaniment of a soundtrack composed by Davi Vasc, combining heavy metal sounds with classical music. Amber Lee Connors provided the voice for Moriana.
