Battlecruiser 3000AD is an advanced space simulator, the concept of which was born in the early 1980s in the head of its creator - Derek Smart. After more than 10 years of creating and constantly improving his idea, he managed to create one of the most extensive and detailed space-simulators in history.
The action of the game takes place many decades after mankind invented advanced spacecraft technology and discovered new worlds and intelligent forms of life. Despite this, interstellar travel is still inaccessible to the general public, but reserved only for the military and research scientists. In 2041 a great intergalactic war broke out with the participation of the Earth. Three years later, a special galactic alliance of GALCOM was formed to establish order in space. However, the Gammulan race did not join the alliance and it is against it that we will come to fight in Battlecruiser 3000AD.
In the game we command the GALCOM cruiser, on board of which there are interceptors, pendulums and ATVs. Our ship has a rich arsenal of missiles of various uses, it is also equipped with 3 automatic turrets and the main weapon placed on its axis. It should be emphasized that the entire crew of our ship "lives". - The presence of officers affects its efficient operation, fighter pilots provide protection against smaller enemy ships, system engineers repair the ship, and flight engineers prepare fighters, shuttleships and ATVs. Doctors take care of the wounded and the marines can murder enemy ships, while protecting us from attempts by the enemy to take over our machine.
The axis of the game is the ACM (Adanced Campaign Mode) module, in which we take part in a series of missions of increasing difficulty. As the game progresses, we receive experience points, and the results of the mission have an impact on the further course of the campaign. In addition, the game offers Free Flight mode, where you can freely explore the galaxy without any enemy threat, and Xtreme Carnage Combat Simulator, which focuses on epic battles with hostile civilizations.
For Battlecruiser, a huge new world was created, consisting of 25 star systems and 200 planets and moons. In the game we can meet representatives of 13 different civilizations, which fight wars with each other, form alliances, etc. In the game we can meet representatives of 13 different civilizations, which fight with each other, form alliances, etc. Production was created for many years, being constantly developed and enriched with the latest technologies available on the market. Due to misunderstandings between the publisher and the authors, the first released version of the game was an unfinished and nonplayable version. As a result of a long battle for publishing rights, in 1999 Interplay resumed the company under the name Battlecruiser 3000AD v.2.0.
