Battle Princess of Arcadias is a two-dimensional RPG set in a fantasy world, whose heroes are a brave princess and her allies. Producer The title was created by Nippon Ichi studio, well known to fans of jRPG strategic games such as Disgaea series. Production is the first project in a long time by a Japanese team that abandoned the established tactical RPG formula played on three-dimensional maps presented in isometric view. The creators decided on two-dimensional hand-drawn graphics and a gameplay model reminiscent of traditional beat up games or titles such as Dragon's Crown or Odin Sphere from PlayStation 2.
Players move to a fantastic world. The main character of the title is Princess Primu, who, together with her friends, must play out the danger threatening her Kingdom and the whole world. In addition to the young heir to the throne, during the adventure we will also control two other heroes. Fictional interrupts, thanks to which we will get to know the whole story, have been realized in the form known from visual novel.
Undoubtedly, Battle Princess of Arcadias focuses on action, but our results in battles with enemies are still influenced by character statistics and other variables characteristic for RPGs. All levels are presented in 2D and we can move in them just like in arcade games. Most often we move in the direction of the right side of the screen, and the camera follows our character. Various monsters and powerful bosses stand in her way. In one moment we can fight even a dozen or so monsters at once. Primu uses a variety of weapons, from swords to huge axes. Princess's friends use arcs and magic, which turn out to be extremely effective in clashing with some types of opponents. In total, players can choose from dozens of types of weapons and equipment, which affects the strength and speed of attacks. Each character also has special blows and powers that consume SP points that regenerate during combat.
